I was touring around northern Italy the past week and purchased +/- 50 pieces of glass
the attached piece fascinates me the most, it really is beautiful, the vertical ribs almost make it look facet-ed from different angles and light
37 high x 14 wide (mid) x 6 cm base
it almost looks like the stripes are etched but they are actually protruding
seems I read about this process somewhere but do not remember just where
-
funny I found a similar vase + etched design and near glass colour on 1stDibs
the seller claims it is a Murano by the manufacturer Oggetti (but this word just means objects in Italian?)
after further inspection, I realised the vase is actually deeply etched

In the second pic, it looks like it is surface decorated with small glass granules - something often called "Matthey Crinkles".
I can't work out how your final pic fits in with any of the others, and I'm really not sure it is etched in any way.
If you do a search for "Matthey Crinkles", you'll see other examples of what they look like to check if that's what you've got there.
You did say they bits protrude; Etching would remove some of the surface - it would not protrude.
But the surface left behind, technically, would. ;D

I just realised this vase's striped pattern is overshot glass like the Peill & Putzler pendant I have
during my Italian glass learning process I have purchased a few dogs and am sure to buy a few more
however I am convinced this is a special old piece and will visit a lady here in Milan for her view, she has a little shop and is a local glass expert
would posters here consider an overshot glass pattern to be a premium process for glass design?

I'm afraid not. :) It was used very much on everyday household wares - drinking glasses and hyacinth vases.
There is something strange about your pictures - they do not seem to enlarge properly but produce lots of pixellated rainbows - so I cannot see any detail on this new vase at all.
Some examples of "Mathey Crinkles" also known as "Sugar Glass" illustrated here.

I don't think it's Matthey Crinkles (too rough); it's more like overshot
-
It's certainly rougher than the things illustrated in that link. :)
Mathey Crinkles felt horribly rough in my little hand when I was small - I hated them.
Niether is a high end process though, are they, Christine? :)
But I don't know what is on the second vase at all.
Do you own the photograph or have permission from the auction site you found it on to post it, Jon?
Otherwise we might end up with copyright problems.
It is perfectly fine to post a link to the original site where the images are hosted. They keep their copyright credit then. But single images like this might have to be removed.

these new photos should be better, I changed to Irfanview photo editor
the glass at the base is on an angle (not level) with different thickness from side to side
the overshot stripes or ribs have random lengths
-
The problem image was the Oggetti one you say is from an auction site. :)
It would be better to post a link to the Auction site itself.
