I bought this vase at the thrift and can’t ID it. It is shaped like a small sized orange cased vase in the Carnaby “ Majgron” shape (which I found on the website harder.net). But the measurements are not exactly the same. I don’t know Holmegaard glass at all. I will probably sell this vase and sure don’t want to say it’s Holmegaard if it is a cheap Chinese imitation! It feels like nice quality, although there is one bubble mark on the bottom edge. Attaching pictures.
14cm tall, 12.5cm across at bottom, 7cm across top lip

I'm voting Chinese. It looks like a Matt finish to the Pontil.

I've got a funny feeling these are Japanese, rather than Chinese.
But they're not "fakes" - nobody is claiming they are anything other than what they are. ;D
They may be designed to decieve, but there are no marks or labels claiming they are anything.
If these vases are not one of the standard Holmegaard sizes, and are not one of the ones made under license by Cascade in England, then they are these "lookalikes".

There is an image of a holmegaard Pontil mark on the 12th row down on this link, that appears to have a Matt finish. However, the white on holmegaard pieces usually looks more solid than on yours.

I agree completely with Sue's comments on the use of the word "fake", and there are some superb quality pieces coming from China. I am only just starting to find out more about japanese glass, but you might find the link below informative.

Possibly John, but the bases do seem very different in the pictures at least. Not impossible to think they may be making similar items in both China and Japan.
KRude, have you checked the size against known holmegaard examples?

Belated thank you for all your help! I will go with Japanese or Chinese Gulvvase lookalike! The links you posted were informative!
