Title: Help to ID signed flatfish
Post by: Sendhandfran on September 02, 2019, 01:11:32 PM
Hi fellow glass lovers.
I picked up this wonderful glass flatfish the other day. It's 20cm tall, solid glass, quite heavy and tactile, possibly a paperweight. At the time i bought it I didn't notice the signature scratched on the bottom. It did have glue remains of an oval label but that was all. I've tried to trace P. Swan but any Google searches of the artist and the word glass result in Lots of glass swans :-\ I'd love to know if anyone has heard of P.Swan or might know where, or when,  it was made.

It does not help any to put the P. Swan in inverted commas either.  ::)
I did wonder if it might be recent Mdina production, but they don't appear to use millifiori canes for eyes. It could well be contemporary Chinese output.
I'm not entirely convinced the "signature" might not just be an owner scratching their name on it.
