Title: Another Czech piece
Post by: Bertie on September 28, 2019, 02:55:03 PM
Hi All

After the resounding success with the last piece I have another that I would like some help with

It is a piece I bought this year from the Czech Republic described as a Miroslav Klinger design made at the ZBS Glass factory
I have never been able to confirm this and it does not look like his work to me

It is one of my Favorite pieces a wonderful colour with an industrial design like a conductor or insulator on a power line
It looks more like something by Rudolf Jurnikl, Jan Schmid or Frantisek Vizner

Any help would be gratefully received

Thanks for looking :)

:) A base image is better taken at a bit of an angle, with the light hitting the surface, so that we can see any marks on it and how well it is polished, or if there are age-related wear marks.
And a plain white background helps a lot too.
We really want to see your fabby glass properly - in fine detail, with nothing confusing around and getting in the way...  ;D ;D ;D Your first pic is great! ;)
I've got my fingers crossed Anik will come along shortly and tell you what you've found. You clearly have an eye for the good stuff.  :)

Hi
To be honest not a lot to see polished flat with some wear marks
Best I can for now not set up for taking better pictures at the minute
Thanks

:) Don't worry, I do understand it's not always that easy. Merely aiming for perfection. ;D
The sort of "nothing on the base" can often tell us a lot.
And we always like to check it anyway. We have a thing about peering at the bottoms.  ;D

However, that is a perfect picture of a bottom and the age-related wear looks perfectly good. I'm very happy and reassured with it.  8)

Hi all

I have received a bit more info on this vase

It was bought originally by the person I bought it from from a village near Železný Brod from the family of a former employee.
In his words it was made at the Železný Brod factory when Miroslav Klinger was chief designer who at the time designed most of the production

This should be ok for me but if anyone can add anything I would be grateful
I like to dot the I's and cross the T's

Thanks
