Title: Engraved bear and rabbit ornaments - ID = Mats Jonasson, Målerås
Post by: Beege on November 13, 2019, 08:10:31 PM
Hallo all.
These two ornaments (I'm not sure if they are meant to be paperweights) are beautifully crafted and I suspect they are Finnish.
I've photographed them with a back light to emphasise the details...this includes the signatures.
Does anybody recognise the artist or can identify the signatures?
Thank you.
Jack.

Swedish,
Mats Jonasson, Målerås

Search ”mats jonasson glasblock kanin”
Kanin is rabbit in Swedish

Search ”mats jonasson glasblock björn”
Björn is bear in Swedish

Jonas

Jonas, thank you so much for the speedy response.
You confirmed what I suspected...that the signatures where the same (though one looks longer than the other).
I shall follow your suggestions.
Many thanks
Jack.

They are probably not actual signatures. They are marks made by someone other than Mats

Thank you Christine.
