Title: Seems to be Legras Mont Joye enamelled irises vase
Post by: chilternhills on November 13, 2019, 08:42:39 PM
I just bought this vase recently, not really knowing what it is. I now realize it could be Legras Mont Joye. I would appreciate your feedback. It is about 30 cm tall. Thanks.

Here is a picture of the base. I guess the mark is a stylized L. Any idea what 27 stands for? The pontil mark has been hollowed out.

27 will be the decorator's mark; they were on piece work

Just measured it properly. It is 25.5 cm high. In lovely condition. Slightly rubbed gilding at the rim, but otherwise perfect. I am almost embarrassed to say that I bought this in a charity shop for £2.50. But it is in the museum cabinet, adding to our collection of French glass.

Differences in the iris / lily details but essentially the same vase.
