1.25 inches across, marked, for Edinburgh 1976, C. J. perfect shape for Valentine's day !
-
:)
And perfect for the pair of you.
Glass for you and jewellery for Linda.
With no problem of finding shelf space. ;)
-
Thanks Sue ;D ;D ;D

It's a slightly special sort of heart shape there, with the crown in the middle, very like the Irish Claddagh Ring symbol.
The crown on top symbolisies the sacredness of the love and enduring friendship it represents.
"The secret of our being, is not only to live, but to have something to live for." (Dostoyevsky)
(I've just got that from the back of a Claddagh plaque I was given. :) )

That should appeal to Irish in Lin, puts me in her good books ! ;D ;D
-
Ah! So the Irish "Claddagh" translates to Scottish "Luckenbooth"?
-
;)
Luckenbooth?
That's the name of every second tacky tartan shortbread souvenir shop! The sort of places you can buy tartan tammies with ginger fluff attached. :-X
I did go and look it up Kev. :) Now I do know it's something else, and very like the Claddagh.

You say that like it's a bad thing LOL I must confess that when I was in Scotland, I did buy a couple of such tams, but in my defense, it was for my young nephews :-)

It was just a bit of traditional (Scottish) self-depreciation Carolyn.
I do think they're really funny. ;D
Especially en masse!

Especially en masse!
On masse? The mind boggles!
Carolyn

en masse(french) ; A large crowd of folk, all wearing them. ;D
I know you're fond of the souvenir things, Carolyn. ;D They are a category of item which stands alone -and I think they are kitsch and funny, perfectly wonderful things to collect. :-*

The latest piece, dated 1978 ;D ;D

:) A better year for Caithness than it was for me, then. ::) ;)
-
The year we got hitched ;D ;D
-
it was the year I got conned into reluctantly walking down an aisle. >:(
But it was a good year for music ;) and a very, very good year for you and Linda. 8) 8) 8)

The 70s is my decade for music, probably some of the 1870s also ! ;D ;D
