Title: Small cobalt vase or toothpick holder? Scandinavian?
Post by: catshome on February 08, 2020, 08:11:41 PM
Yet another piece of cobalt glass out of a box and in need of identification.

A fraction over 7cm tall x just under 6cm diameter, with approx. 3cm rim and foot diameters.  Weighs 74g.  Although the top “half” is 4cm, and the bottom 3cm, the weight is in the base and the colour is more purple in the bottom “half”.

Not sure if it is a very small vase, or maybe a toothpick holder – Mum’s toothpicks seemed a little short when used for the photo shoot.

Definite Scandinavian feel to the design, although it also has a nod to the Whitefriars’ soda glass shapes.

As always, any ideas welcomed, thank you.

:-[ To give you a giggle, I've just spent some time trying to work out the cut or enamelled pattern on it. It wasn't showing in the first pic.
