Hi all,
I have a large glass piece that I would like help in identifying. I believe it is Murano glass, but I could be mistaken. It was purchased a year or two ago in Susteren, the Netherlands, but it may have come from Belgium.
Weight: 9.6 kg (21 lbs)
Height: 57 cm(about 22.4 cm)
Diameter at base: 26 cm (about 10 in)
I've added some photos of the work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the board. What an unusual design, I've not seen one like it before. Let's see what others suggest for you.

Hello and welcome. Does it pour? Just wondered if it might be some sort of bird carafe. Interesting piece.

Hi Catshome,
Thank you for your response, I appreciate it!
Theoretically you could pour / use it as a caraf, but due to the weight (10 KG + the additional fluid) I think it's very unlikely it was designed for this purpose. Even for a strong person it would be hard to lift and than pour something out of without spilling.
I'm especially interested in the production technique of similar pieces, it's very thick glass and I think not every artist could sculpture a piece like this, also due to the size. Any thoughts about this, since I haven't seen any similar pieces so far.
Thank you again, I hope to get some more information about this (apparently very uncommon) piece.
