Title: Uranium bubble cylindrical flower frog
Post by: thewingedsphinx on March 29, 2020, 12:12:56 PM
Would be grateful for any help with this bottomless vase looks like it’s blown and the one end pinched together to create small holes entering the larger hole, a little unusual and as I’m having difficulty describing it I cannot find another?  Tulip vase?
Thanks

I don't know what a tulip vase is - specifically for tulips presumably - but what might it be about toolips that would require a frog like this - the leaves maybe?
It's an insert by the looks of the open bottom, and assuming that's correct, then its size would suggest a substantial vase in which to locate this frog.       Might be worth checking the vases on Pamela's pressed 'glass pavillon' - if you've not already done so.
Otherwise I'm clueless - sorry - but very interesting and unusual.

Hi Paul,
Tulip vase more common in porcelain or china. Tulips can be floppy so need extra support and look good individually I suppose?. I’ve seen some similar textured items by Daum Nancy in green bubble glass but that’s about it. Thanks Mike

thanks for the explanation Mike  -  I've a feeling this one is uncommon, and we may struggle - but fingers crossed. :)
