Title: Can anyone help with this red & black cased vase
Post by: seanduxbury on April 05, 2020, 03:38:40 PM
Hi.  Hope someone can help.  Found this vase in a local auction in the North West of England in a mixed lot and am wondering if it's perhaps Czech or a modern Chinese vase.  It measures approx 26 cm tall x 10 cm in diameter at the widest point and weighs just over 600 gms.  Some air bubbles near the rim.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not a clue - but I don't think it's contemporary Chinese, there is some sophistication to it, not that that rules contemporary Chinese out - it is just unusual to find.
Nice beast! :)

Czech and Deco, often attributed to Kralik, some examples have a web like pattern (google Kralik Webbed).
