Title: Georgian Decanter
Post by: Laird on July 18, 2020, 08:46:33 AM
Another one for the collection.

I'm dating this one to to 1780 - 1810, with a tendency towards the 1780 end of the range.
It has a squat body, decorated with a row of draped swags.
The base is plain with a small polished pontil, with all the scratch marks round the periphery to be expected.
I couldn't identify a similar one in AMcC.
Any comment on my suggested dating?

Keith's glass in the British & Irish section has a similar etched design, but also with no consensus on date.
