Faceted Drinking glass for ID
Any idea of age or usage of this glass
8 facets around the body
smooth pontil mark
10cm tall or 4 inches tall
5.2cm or 2 inch rim dia

Hi, it’s not always easy to date this sort of thing (and your other similar one). These two posts might help:

You have to start looking at tool marks, colour, and subtle qualities etc. This one has a ball knop, (your other one a bladed knop), which might help in searches.

I like this one as it has so much wear and you can imagine where it’s been over the years and the history it’s survived. I would say a date around 1830s 1840s for this, but that’s a feeling without looking into it more. I have always been slightly puzzled as to why so many deception glasses appear as I would think they were a very small minority of production.
