A strange looking glass with 8 facets and a depth which looks to be very short considering the overall depth of it.
A small smooth ground polished pontil mark.
lots of ware to base ring.
4 inches tall or 9.8cm
2 inch rim dia or 5cm.
quite a heavy glass for its size.
Any help is much appreciated
Regards

If the inside of the bowl is shallow compared to the outside it's probably a Victorian "illusion" wine glass which makes it appear to hold more than it actually does.

Hi, just checking...but the text on this post seems to go better with the photos in your other post for a drinking glass (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,69965.0.html)?
In the other glass, you can see the polished pontil mark, on this glass I can’t see it and it looks like it might have a ‘T’ or ‘J’ shear mark on the bottom? It might just be the photos. The other glass also looks more like a illusion glass than this one?

Hi, thanks for the input i cleaned and photographed both glasses together to give you a better view of the bases. both have a ground and polished depression on the base but cannot see a J or T shear mark.
Many thanks
