Title: Uranium Crackle Glass 20cm. Vase.
Post by: NevB on September 18, 2020, 08:10:17 AM
This was a cheap buy yesterday although it does have a crack and chips on the rim, but it displays OK. I've had a good look but can't find another crackle or uranium glass vase in this "beehive" shape, apart from some similar American ones. It seems to have a ground pontil under the crackle and the colour is what I'd call "forest green".

I should have posted this under Glass  ::) but it might be British anyway.

British glass usually has fire polished rims

Just yesterday I was trawling Polish Art Glass, and I noticed a set of vases this shape in clear. But it wasn't what I was looking for and didn't look at who made it.
And I cannot find it now. sorry. :'(

Thanks Christine and Sue, I've had a good look and found nearly all of these vases have fire polished rims but I'm reminded of two "Mary Gregory" vases I have/had which had the same sort of bottom and ground rim, so maybe it's Bohemian/Czech. I can't find anything under Polish glass or in this shape.
