Title: Murano? Glass flowers from a pendant light / chandelier
Post by: Ailurophile on October 03, 2020, 07:26:49 PM
I bought a couple of dozen glass flower corollas a few years back, but now have abandoned the intended project.  Thinking of selling them, I started photographing them & musing on their origin.  They are white glass flecked with burgundy, cased clear, & individually made & thus variable in shape & patterning.  Basically, they weigh around 95g each & are "life size" if you think of a lily, which the corolla closely resembles.  They came with some tiny threaded brass type beads, intended as flower centres but lacking anything to which they should be attached.   I thought about Murano & have seen so-called chandeliers with flowers pretty much identical, dating to the 60s or 70s.  I'd be very grateful if anyone with a greater knowledge of Murano than I (actually quite easy) could give an opinion.  Dimensions are around 11cm max diameter & 3 deep.
