Title: A unique uranium glass, not sure what it is.
Post by: wy699usa on October 09, 2020, 10:28:01 PM: Hello All, this is a strange and unique uranium glass (quite small). I cannot find out what it is called, what it is used for, and who made it.

So I wonder if it is a shot glass missing it's set and decanter? I don't know if Zelezny Brod did uranium glass or if Rudolf Hlousek may be the designer though. A bit of detective work might be needed to see if there are any old catalogues with a set in?

Post by: NevB on October 10, 2020, 08:51:06 AM: I don't think it would be very easy to drink out of whichever way you held it. I think it's possibly a toothpick holder and would make a sort of fan effect when full.

Now I knew they are shot glass, and I need to find the matching decanter (Collectible Art Deco liquor set containing decanter and six matching glasses probably made by MOSER in Karlove Vary – Czechoslovakia c. 1930's).

And the last one you posted does not say it is marked unfortunately. So it may not be Moser?

Post by: flying free on October 10, 2020, 09:20:10 PM: ;D I had ~~a box~~ correction as have now found link - I had an ashtray in neodymium lilac years ago and when I saw the glass it reminded me of that cut in a similar way. In the end it was id'd as Desna. However looking at the pics again I don't think the cut design is the same as this shot glass. But Desna might be worth investigating?
