Hello, does anyone recognise this piece or the stamp on its base? Many thanks.
-
Kerry Glass. Pattern "Peat".
Kerry was set up with assistance from Michael Harris of IoWSG, he gave them these designs to get started off with, which is why the logo of the "blob of glass in a flame" pontil prunt is there. :)
-
Thank you Sue! I wondered if it was a flame, thank you for this info :) Learning all the time!

That prunt mark is normally seen on IoWSG rather than Kerry. There was some talk about which way around the flame faces indicating the different studios, but it didn't come to anything and there is no evidence of it. :)

Ahem, here is one:

That post was more than ten years ago, eek. As I remember it, at some point the punch used to make the mark at Kerry was lost, a new one was made and the flame mark was the wrong way around. That was then replaced with another with the right orientation.

Thanks, John.
Sorry for getting it wrong and making you go to the effort of checking it all.
I'll do my best to remember for next time. Promise!

Hello, thank you for linking this post John. I've read through but I'm a little unsure. Is my vase Kerry Glass but with the flame the 'right' way around? Sorry, I've got myself a bit confused!
-
Yours is Kerry.
When IoWSG made similar, the glass was more finely blown and the mottles didn't twist so much.
Lefts and rights confuse me, orientation of the logo isn't something I seem able to remember.
-
Thanks Sue, that's really helpful :)

And Kerry has the logo both ways around. 8)
