Title: Unusual shaped decanter Amethyst & Browny tinged Glass????
Post by: LEGSY on October 17, 2020, 03:16:55 PM
Got a new piece of glass to show i recently purchased it off an online marketplace
for the Christmas party if one happens this year :) The question is is it one i am fine
to use and not too valuable as things do sometimes go wrong where alcohols concerned
The base and stopper are dark amethyst and the main body is an unusual color i was thinking
it might be an Art Nouveau period and Bohemian or German any thoughts thanks

Longshot but my first thought was Leerdam and this one has a similar stopper  :-\  There are quite a few with very similar stoppers and Leerdam did make pieces with a dark coloured foot and used an amethyst.

Leerdam might be worth investigating further perhaps then?
and no, personally I wouldn't use it.  It's a rather gorgeous stand-alone piece.
