Hi All,
See attached a better selection of photos, of my small white vase.
Hoping the signature is clearer.
Kind regards

Has a look of Maija Carlson's designs for Kumela, but can't find an exact match and the signature doesn't match either, so probably not. Would think there's a strong possibility it's Scandinavian though.
-
Morning Chas,
Totally agree with Malja Carlson, and that is closest I have seen to date.
Focusing on Scandic origin would be wise, and I will have another search today.
Kind regards

Hi Chas,

I believe this is the vase in question.
Thanks for your help!!

Different technique, yours does not have the white threads 'pulled up' like that. The signatures don't match.
Yours looks like it could be a perfume bottle missing the stopper - you can tell by looking inside the neck where it will have been ground for a stopper to fit.

Hi John,
I stand corrected, and you are spot on.
It would have had a stopper, and agree regarding the signature.
Thanks for the information.
Kind regards

Sorry I can't be more constructive.
In the second word of the signature it looks as though letters 2 and 3 are both an i, double vowels like that crop up in the Finnish language.
-
No worries John, and your advice has been brilliant.
I have taken a better picture of the signature and I will try and upload it via the iPad shortly.
I am also thinking it has to be Finnish.
Kind regards

In Turkish the two dots appear above a u for example.
I can't find it or anything like it at the moment but for some reason Turkish glass came to mind because of the spiral canes.
I think that's a possibility?

kind of something like this although these aren't the same:

I did come across something last night about a Finnish designer working with a glass factory in Turkey as well.
-
Hi ya, I have spent a good few hours searching & agree they are similar.
Thanks for the link, and the search goes on.
Thank you

Thank you, and I have had a look at Turkish glass and will keep looking this evening.
It’s a total mystery at the moment!
Kind regards
