Title: Murano Paperweight?
Post by: Birkyc on November 02, 2020, 10:16:51 PM
hi everyone,

I acquired this paperweight a while ago alog with 2 other pieces of glass that i have positively identified as Murano from the 60s /70s. I have no reason to think that this piece is not from the same period, however, so far I have drawn a blank in trying to identify the signature.

Any guidance would be helpfull,

thank you

Stay safe everyone.

Thank you for your reply. I agree that it does have the look of Mdina and considered that as a posibility. However, all the pieces of Mdina I have seen are signed Mdina?

My impression is that Mdina weights were signed by many different people, at least there are many different signatures, some (like this) almost impossible to decipher. So my conclusion was: looks like Mdina - and with some imagination it could be read as Mdina ;).

Hi
Definately Mdina I've seen it signed this way before even on stickered pieces. What looks like a C at the front is just a flourish before going into the m what looks like o l is the d etc.
