I've just bought this 7cm. tall rose bowl which I assume is by Moser. Virtually all the gilding has worn off revealing the orange? underpainting which, as Christine says, indicates it is Bohemian. The pontil has been ground but a small circular scar has been left in the middle I presume to avoid any chance of grinding through the glass. I'd hoped it was Uranium and it does glow under UV but more like Manganese although it does give a slight indication on a Geiger counter.

Second photo is under UV.

Bohemian (typical enamel design and yellow under-enamel) but not Moser: the quality is not there, sorry

Thanks Christine :( I'll have to keep looking :).

Your Geiger counter must have been picking some background radiation up. They do that. :)

You're right Sue but I always allow for that, the indication was over and above background, but not by much.

I'm now thinking it may be Josephinenhütte but more research needed.
