Title: Hand blown teal small vase
Post by: Daphne1 on February 21, 2021, 11:40:20 AM
Hello All,

Can anyone tell me more about my little vase? Period, country etc. Thanks in advance!

Pic is hazy, hope that is not a problem. Color is teal but that doesn't show.

Hi and welcome to the board. The shape and frilly top remind me of Anchor Hocking glass in the USA, but I don't know if they did that colour or not. It's worth checking out though...

I thought that too Anne but I think the frills are too small. Anchor Hocking mostly made this type of thing in "Royal Ruby" and normally it was marked with an interlocked Anchor and H on the bottom. Daphne1, a close up of the bottom of your vase would be helpful.

I'd guess it is first part of the 20th. century and the pontil looks to have been smoothed and is not sharp so possibly European, but very difficult to identify exactly.
