Post by: Mick the fish on March 09, 2021, 04:52:01 PM
Does anyone have any idea about this green etched wine glass?  Any info would be appreciated. Hope my photos are getting better!

Thanks in advance

The photos are much better Mick. It's difficult to tell without handling it but my guess would be English, second half of the 19thC., possibly by one of the Stourbridge factories, but it could also be Bohemian. It appears to have a ground pontil but I can't tell exactly how it's been made, perhaps in three parts. From the colour it doesn't appear to be Uranium glass but it might be worth checking if you have access to a UV light.

It might be even earlier with the hexagonal facet cut stem and flat foot.
