Title: Art Glass By John R Parker, is he famous?
Post by: BJB on September 01, 2006, 05:25:55 PM
I have this unusual glass with two dolphins swimming around the stem, which is signed on the base John R Parker 92.

Has anyone heard of him? I have looked but have come up empty at the moment.

John R Parker was the resident glassblower at the Ohio Renassiance Festival for some years until his death in 2007.  He was from Nottingham England, with half of his family living there and half in the Ohio/Michigan area.  It is possible that glass given to his mother was taken home.  Dolphins were a favorite subject of his in the 1990's.  He was not famous.  He is just someone who loved the art of blowing glass and loved the atmosphere of the Renaissance Festival.
