Title: Scandinavian Ice Sculpture Vase?
Post by: Harold123 on May 07, 2021, 09:32:48 PM
Any help appreciated trying to ID maker
5.5" / 14 cm Tall x 5" / 12 cm wide x 2.5" / 6.5 cm Depth
A difficult item to photograph. Basically, it's a Block of Glass imitating ice with a blown bottle vase within.
The base has not been ground or polished.
The Vase entrance is very small at 15 mm and has a cold forming mark at the back (not a mold seam)
Definitely, hand-made, but no signatures or marks of any kind.
I assume it might be Scandinavian?
Any help with the maker truly appreciated as I have looked and looked online without any results.

Like a few here I'm sure, I keep a database and looking through I've seen something very similar I've got ascribed as being by Walther. It's not quite identical, your one is more textured, but the design is the same. Can't remember where I got it from, but it gives you something to search for.

Pretty sure this design has been identified here on the board but I don't remember the details...

Could it possibly be Amanda Brisbane?
She did large and unusual cast pieces.
