Title: Heavy glass jug, Richardson's maybe.

10.5 inches tall including handle, heavy ribbed body with twisted handle and large polished pontil mark, fair amount of wear but no marks, ;D

 :) How well balanced is it? Does it feel right when you lift it? Does it pour well, without dribbling?
I would imagine Richardson's should be "just right".
Very attractive  :)
-Are there any water marks? They're always a worry when buying clear, cut glass you have not been able to inspect.  :-\

Very balanced, there are a few marks at the bottom but nothing noticeable  ;D ;D

Good. A well balanced jug is not nearly as common as it should be.  ;D
And "whew" for lack of nasty hidden marks. :)

It's been suggested that it might be a Molineaux Webb piece.

That isn't quite what I suggested over on facebook. My point was that all the individual elements - ribbed body, twisted handle, flat bottom, are seen on known Molineaux Webb jugs in the mid Victorian period. It should be said that I have never seen a Molineaux Webb jug of this era outside of the pattern book, they must have been made in low volume.
