Title: My Latest Purchase Need Help in Identification
Post by: glassamore on May 29, 2021, 02:54:44 AM
Hello all you wonderful people at Glass Message Board

I have just purchased this extra tall thin Vase from my local charity shop for £8 which I think is a bargain.

I was wondering if anyone could ID it for me. I am expecting an import from china?

The vase looks like it is hand blown and is cased in clear over cream and brown glass on the inner rim. There are quite a few bubbles and crease marks that suggest to me possibly blown into a mould?

There is a matte pontil mark to the base. The vase measures 45cm tall, the top rim is 10cm diameter and the base is 9cm in diameter.

Please forgive me if i have all the terminologies wrong but I hope you can see by my photographs that this vase looks quite beautiful.

Thank you in advance for any leads or information - Keep Safe!

With best regards Gary Glassamore

I just wonder if it could be Polish?  It reminds me of a large Tarnowiec vase I had years ago with its brown/cream marbled effect cased in clear glass.
Another possibility Jozefina Krosno.  Its very nice what ever it turns out to be ;)

Makora? The second and third of the pics look rather like that.
If it is, it is very nice Makora. The shape is really elegant. But I haven't seen the soft greys in Makora, it tends to be creamy yellows, white and brown.
