Title: Mathew Turnbull Celery Glass ?
Post by: Harold123 on June 24, 2021, 08:20:56 PM
This Celery Vase although clearly pressed glass has been wheel cut on each panel depicting two types of fern or grass.
My question to the forum is it made by Mathew Turnbull's Company and did they do this type of work, or do we know this was typically an aftermarket thing performed by another company or individual.
The vase is 7.5" / 19 cm Tall with a max diameter of 5" / 12.5 cm
The last picture is an ultra closeup clearly showing the wheel marks as opposed to acid engraving, just incase there was any doubt

No, we think not, the Turnbull one has the zips below every dip not every 3rd dip on the rim. See here for a discussion of both Turnbull and non-Turnbull and a non-Turnbull one with engraving on the panels, with photos, http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,5601.0.html.
