Help please to ID this old glass, I think its a drinking glass and not a Jelly.
It has a grey tinge and sliced panels and weighs 350gm
Height 138mm, diameter of rim 99mm and base 83mm
A nice yellow glow under uv light.
Wear to base.
Thanks Roy

would agree Roy, probably not a jelly - despite that it has what is sometimes described as a 'pan topped' bowl - sweet meats often had such a bowl design. I could be very wrong, but seem to vaguely recall that a yellow glow might mean selenium, but not sure. Regret can't see from you picture of the underside of the foot what it is we're supposed to be seeing - presumably it has a polished depression where the scar was removed - try raking the light. How about it's for champers? When you say ID - you are never going to know the maker - did you mean to say age? ;D What is the ring like when flicked?

Thanks Paul for your reply.
I think I was just showing the narrow ring of wear on the base. Has quite a nice ring when flicked, and your correct I would be interested in the age that it may be.

Roy - so there isn't any polished depression where the pontil scar would have been ground/polished out - and if you don't have a shears mark either then assume it's a machine finished base so age very unlikely to be before 1900 do you think and probably some time after too.

Thanks Paul your most likely right again , its no big deal I rather have my good health back again.
Thanks for all your help Roy

Just looking at the glass again I should of said there is quite a large polished depression where the pontil mark was ground out.
