Title: WHAT IS IT?
Post by: ttttootall on August 03, 2021, 11:42:06 AM
Any ideas on what this is and maybe who made it? There are no signatures or marks that I can see. Thought it may be a cigar ashtray.

Interesting, given the shape I wonder if it might be a rest for a pipe?

I'm inclined to agree with Anne (Mod.)  -  I did have one or two pipe ashtrays some years back - can't now find my pix - but they did have this double bowl type of arrangement.    Unfortunately, they all went back to the charity shop some while ago.             How long is this one please.

I believe due to the thinness of the rim and the way it is shaped that a pipe would chip the edge. That is why I thought more of a cigar. It is approximately 9 inches in length.

What about a scoop of some kind like a tea caddy or flour scoop, kitchenalia.
Just a guess.

Oh very possible as long as it did not hit the very thin lip of the bowl.
