Could this be Charlie Meaker in a shape I have not seen before.
The vase is not signed.
6" square by 2.75" wide.
A heavy 1630 gm
Thanks Roy

I noticed a kind of wavy texture in your pics, so I went off to check my example to see if it was the same. After cleaning it ( :-[ ) I realised the wavy texture is not in the colour, but on the outside of the vase.
So that bit's right, the gouged pontil scar is right, the colour is right, the gold and sliver foil is right; I think you have a piece by Charlie Meaker.
Do you have the wave-like horizontal lines on the outside of the glass too?

IOW ,??,

Charlie Meaker trained at IoWSG for a short while after being at The Glasshouse. But he made pieces in this shade of blue, which is not an IoWSG colour and in his own shapes. He worked and taught in Sunderland, then Copenhagen. He died in 2011.

Thanks Sue for you reply.
Yes it does have a wavy rim which extends to the side.
The vase was bought 2 days earlier.
Thanks Roy

I actually meant what looked like a horizontal wavy texture in the coloured enamel, but turned out to be on the surface of the body. The vase I have is the same as your tall one - but bigger, I suspect, at 17.5".

I believe Charlie's son is still in Copenhagen area and if you can run him down , he can probably affirm if it is one of his dad's. His son is a glassblower as well. I had met them both many years ago in Novy Bor, Czech Republic for a conference.
