Title: Hermanova 18888 Vase.
Post by: NevB on August 29, 2021, 11:58:29 AM
This is shown on P5. of the pre-1958 Hermanova catalogue as No.18888. Almost certainly a Rudolph Schrötter design from the 1930's, it's 8" tall and weighs 3lbs. The stippled panels which don't show in the catalogue are similar to other unidentified pieces I've seen and may be a indicator of their origin.

I thought I read somewhere that Rudolf (with an F) Schrötter did designs for Hermanova but now I'm not sure. This certainly looks like one of his.

Here is our big and heavy lidded jar in this design. :)
Pieces from this "range" are quite frequently seen here in Vienna, but even more so at Prague fleamarkets, so they seem to have been very popular.

Thanks Michael, I've not seen this pattern before so it's not as common in England.
