Title: possible Czechoslovakian vase.
Post by: Paul S. on September 13, 2021, 02:51:11 PM
some vague resemblance to the 'Candle Wax' vase, though it's not of course, but thought I remembered something like this in Mark Hill's book which I no longer have.
9" tall - c. 230 mm and some wear.                   thanks for looking.

Checked my Mark Hill Sklo book and couldn't see this vase in it.  ??? Sorry!

thanks ever so Lindsey  -  I'd have put money on it being in there somewhere - no matter, but am sure I've seen it somewhere  -  guess I've just seen too much glass.            Rather annoyed as I did have Mark's book - signed too - and it went out by mistake I think  -  judging by Abe it now seems to make big money. :(               thanks again and it's probably back to the charity shop then.

What a shame about the book.  :(

There is something very familiar about the style of the vase though.  The similar ones in the Czech books/catalogues seem to have a band that extends all the way to the base, or a band half way up the vase.

one of those is probably the candle wax vase.     I suspect a few of these clear things look rather similar, unfortunately.
