Title: Is this Mdina ?

 I bought this small wine or sherry glass today thinking it was Mdina.
Looking through the internet this evening i could not find any images of this shape of glass.
The foot has a greenish tinge, recycled glass?
Broken pontil mark but smooth.
It is 112mm tall and the top is 69mm diameter.
Any help appreciated.

My guess is that it is not from Mdina, would be a little more inclined to think Mtarfa or perhaps Phoenecian. If not then I would start looking outside of Malta altogether...

I'd have said;
Not Mdina, Phoenician or perhaps Mtarfa, or look outside Malta.
There does appear to be quite considerable age related wear around the rim of the base.

I might even have a small ponder about some sort of fairly early studio piece... but would not expect to find it was.

Thanks for your observations.
I had a look at the Mtarfa images and did not see that colourway in there range.
In the Phoenician images they had a similar colourway in paperweights but not in stemware.
I will keep looking,

I don't actually think it is Maltese, but it could have been something early/experimental.
I'm leaning more to a studio piece. I've got a Fleur Tookey goblet which has colour going down into the stem. There is a fairly big blob of glass at the base of the stem on top of the foot, and they are rather similar shapes.
But the colours in yours make me think Anthony Stern. Both of these suggestions could just be wind from gut rumbling.  :-\

Greg has just posted this '74 Glasshouse goblet by Annette Meech in another thread.
I can see some similarities in the colours and the way they have been worked. There's a small bit in the first pic. towards the bottom, slightly to the right of centre.

Thanks for the suggestions Sue, i looked at some Anthony Stern images and i can see some of the colours he uses are similar to the ones in my glass. Also the pontil finish seems similar.
All his work seems to be signed , i get the feeling my glass was not made by him.
The main colour of my glass is greeny/blue, could this be recycled glass ?
Only just noticed it has a drawn stem with an applied foot. (i need to pay attention)
With there being so many studio glass makers it may take me some time pin this one down.

I have an unsigend Anthony Stern sherry goblet. It couldn't possibly be anybody else, it's that really well known design with a radial pattern drawn into tight swirls around the edge.
