Title: Stelvio Fatto A Mano Vase? ID Help
Post by: Roobarb on September 22, 2021, 02:24:09 PM
Hi, I've seen a similar piece to this ID'd as a Carlo Moretti, but it looks more like the Stelvio Fatto A Mano pieces to me, especially as I don't believe the Carlo Moretti vases has coloured applied like this.

I'm a bit confused as the sticker remains are the same shape as the sticker in the below listing (which is ID'd as Carlo Moretti), but that sticker also doesn't seem to match Stelvio Fatto A Mano pieces. Any ideas would be much appreciated... :)

I don't believe that is a Moretti piece. I do think your doubts are correct and I support your attribution very strongly.
(how's that for diplomatic?  ;))

Here is another example of that label: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,8845.msg221261.html#msg221261

Empoli yes, any connection to Carlo Moretti would be an extreme stretch as far as I can tell.

Thank you for your replies Sue and John :)

Yes, sounds like Moretti is a definite no - thank you for the link too, I've not been able to find the same sticker anywhere else.
