Title: short, cut, clear stick.
Post by: Paul S. on October 24, 2021, 01:00:16 PM
unmarked and nothing to give clue as to origin.     In view of the shortness, is it possible do we think that this might have been part of a trinket set?    The amount of cutting is really extensive - almost none of the surface area has escaped, and the ground/polished pontil depression covers three quarters of the base, so a quality looking little item, and it has the sort of wear that might take it back 50 - 80 years.      Height is about 3 inches (c. 75 mm)        If anyone has any ideas as to maker or approx. date do shout, and thanks for looking. :)

Any chance you have it upside down and it is a stand for something?

I was wondering that too - it looks like it may be the stand for a comport. I don't recognise the design though Paul.
