Title: Monart? Czech? Murano? Unusual vase that is proving difficult to identify!
Post by: jax.t-s on November 25, 2021, 11:35:50 AM
We recently bought this bowl from a charity shop and are really struggling to identify it's origins! The shape is unusual, along with the yellow-gold banding. The pontil is deep (approx. 1.5cm) and ground with evident tool marks, and there are ground areas on the base too. It's a large piece - 20cm x 20cm x 25cm - and heavy. We have looked at of examples Monart, Nazeing, Welz and everything else on Google and are stumped, so any help identifying the maker would be very gratefully received!

Welcome to the message board.

Your vase looks like contemporary Chinese production, large quantities have been imported in recent years and yours has all the right features.
