Title: Franz Paul Zach - cameo copy of Portland vase 1862
Post by: flying free on December 04, 2021, 03:33:04 AM
Always been interested in the cameo work of 1860s from Zach.

This vase is in the Corning.  It says there were two made.

This report from 1862 (see right hand column about a third of the way down) says it cost £42 which is about £5500 ish now:

thanks  -  perhaps the reason the Corning don't have it on show is to avoid another 'breakage' ;)
