Help please to ID this blue glass jug. It looks acid texture rather than crackle. I know this type of jug has a long history.
Weight 640gm
Height 6.75" or 17cm.
Applied handle.
Thanks Roy

Hi, it’s hard to see without a closeup of the surface but it looks like it might be overshot...possibly on top of crackle?
-
yes, I'd agree with that. The overshot is very obvious, but I can't see the ice crackle though it may be hidden by all the surface frit etc. We've had plenty of both types before - am sure there must be acres if you punch them into the Board's search, though blue is far less common than clear.

Found this on collectorsweekly

Fascinating link, Roy!
I notice your jug has an applied handle, it's not cut from the body.

I also read that the loetz jugs all have applied handles.

I'm not seeing anything about handles there, and in the first CW link, the jugs have cut handles. ???
Maybe my pc doesn't show everything? It's not exactly "up to date". :-[
