Title: Opaline Vases
Post by: NevB on February 26, 2022, 10:53:28 AM
These are three uranium opaline vases, one 11" and two 8", almost certainly French. They are 3-part mould blown with roughly ground pontils and fire polished rims and partially polished mould lines.

I have a large one of those and have never found out who made it; in fact until today I've never seen another. I wouldn't go as far as to say almost certainly French though

I found this one with what appears to be a similar leaf decoration but I've not been able to confirm its attribution from the catalogues.

Try Valerysthal, the source of most opalines in France.

Thanks Ivo, I've looked at Vallerysthal/Portieux and every French and Belgian catalogue I could find but no match. Pamela has a similar looking one attributed to St. Louis and I think they are a possibility as are, dare I say it, Baccarat, though that may be wishful thinking.
