Title: British Cloisonne glass
Post by: Jeff N on February 28, 2022, 03:31:51 PM
Hi,

Can anybody tell me if there were any British, or any worldwide, manufacturers of cloisonne glass other than Monart? I've explored the web but can find no info enabling me to answer the question.

Hi, welcome to the forum. It’s probably worth reading through this topic which was Monart or not: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,68231.0.html There are several alternative makers mentioned at various points. Hope that helps.

Hi Ekimp,

Thanks for pointing me to the previous thread on this subject. Unfortunately, having read previous comments and observations I remain none the wiser. I cannot find an exact Monart shape for our two vases, nor can I find anything to suggest they're vases from S&W. On first sight and handling I suspected they were Chinese but, given the vagaries of the making, didn't think it worthwhile to fake Monart.  Now I'm no longer sure!  ??? ::) ::)

Is it possible to post a photograph of the items so the shape can be clearly seen along with the base finish please.

Thank you.
