Hi All,

Has anyone done a successful guilloche repair?  Any advice for how to repair this clock face?

Thank you!

I'm not an expert but from what I've seen on various TV programmes it is not something you can do yourself. It needs an expert, if you can find one, to repair even the smallest of chips and it is very expensive. I can't see how the cracks could be repaired and I would imagine the only way your clock could be fixed would be to strip all the enamel off and re-do it.

Thanks for the reply NevB.  I'm also concerned that this would be a high-priced, expert repair, but maybe someone on the forum had experience with such a fix (fingers crossed).

There's a FAQ page here that says how a restorer does it... https://enamelrestoration.com/FAQ.html

Thanks Anne.  I had also seen this page and actually contacted that restorer.  Have not heard back yet.
