Title: Glass making technique
Post by: uphoosier on September 08, 2006, 12:46:31 PM
I am at a loss to put a name to this technique.  The white glass is sandwiched between two layers of glass.  I think it makes for a nice looking effect.  Any speculation on origin of this pieces?  Thanks for looking.

It looks like cased glass to me, triple cased in this example.
The close-up almost looks like there's an air trap between the white stripes, it's hard to tell without seeing the item in person, though.

Thanks, Marinka.  I was aware of cased, but not triple cased.  That is not an air trap you see.  The outer case glass fills the ridges in the white glass.
