Hi all.
Another mystery (to me, at least).
This is a large-ish balloon vase, or perhaps lamp base, approx 21cm high x 22cm diameter.
Top half is amber glass, fading somewhat as it widens, fading further into the crackle area. The crackle is uncased, and has quite a distinct texture to the touch.
Base has a large ground pontil, approx 40mm diameter. No signature or other identifying marks.
I've scoured Google images, and looked at several makers, but so far, have failed to find anything quite like it. amber, yes; crackle, yes; amber crackle, yes; but both together in one item...no. My suspicion is, that it's possibly a cheapo Chinese import, but I'm hoping you'll prove my suspicions wrong ;-)
So, over to you... any suggestions welcome. TIA.

I have seen similar around, suspect you might be right Steve with contemporary Chinese production, all the typical features look to be there - generic design, thick walled and generally heavy, matt pontil mark and often you also see less than perfect execution. If not Chinese then it could be from India I guess.
