Hi all..
Haven’t bought any glass that has stumped me for awhile so haven’t posted
This piece was purchased with Monart glass and was obviously thought to be Scottish glass but I’m not convinced it’s Monart I was leaning towards unmarked vasart
There is a flat outer ring on the base as seen in the images but no button pontil it’s polished..I know that’s not essential but it’s nice to see.
Lots of gold aventurine and 3 whorls of glass.Cased.
The shape I have not manage to find but I have found similar colours.
Measures 7.5”
Any help mucho appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this is Czech, from around the same time period as Monart.
I'll have to track down and check Scotland's Glass to find the things that are "not Monart".
It's the same maker as we used to call Cellophane glass, and I think the name was eventually found - but at a time when I started not being able to remember new stuff. ::)
I found the link to Frank's Ysart Glass. But I can't find the bit needed. Maybe you're better at trying to find things on websites than I am. :)

This thread (which is a long one) might help a lot. ;D

If you go to the first page there, the correct page appears.

(Sorry it's taken me so long to find bits)

Hi.
I have just found the exact colour way on the “not Ysart glass” page and its been refereed to as Chrysophase glass which apparently refers to the aventurine. The surface is exactly the same and the colour identical. The main base colour is also identical to Chrysophase cabs you find on arts and crafts pieces.
They are asking on that page if anyone has a piece if it’s UV reactive.Do you think they still need to know or will that have been answered since 2006.
Thanks for the reply it got me on the right track,I should have looked first and hunted it down sometimes I’m a bit slow.

I got lost trying to find the not-Ysart page with the image - I knew it was there and found it eventually.
I did have to edit several times when I found better links. I put them all here because otherwise I'd have lost them.
I think we know it is not Uranium, but if you could check, to be absolutely sure, that would be great.
