Title: Cased Glass Vase with Silver Top
Post by: NevB on October 12, 2022, 12:56:52 PM
This 8" vase is white glass cased in a "tango" green. It has enough of a glow under UV for me to think it contains uranium. My guess would be it's by Kralik but I'll look into it further. The marks on the top are difficult to read but are WHS, almost certainly William Henry Sparrow, the town mark is illegible but should be Birmingham, the letter is "h" for 1907, plus the lion rampant. Sparrow appears to have produced silver rims for other pieces as illustrated by this previous post.

I can't confirm the attribution but this similarly ribbed vase has the same date on the top.

But there is no similarity between your vase and that vase?

I just thought the style of the vertical ribs looked very similar.
