Title: Pink satin glass toothpick holder (?)
Post by: nastina.nastea on December 19, 2022, 07:31:05 PM
Hello!
I've found a wonderful piece and I'm struggling with its identification: it is a footed pink satin glass toothpick/matches holder (I'm not sure), approx 3" high. There is a genie, or some kind of idol face and wheat (?) pattern on it. I was trying to find something similar, but, unfortunately, without any result.
If anyone could help me with this, I would really appreciate! :)

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the board. I've not seen your wee vase before but someone else may recognise it for you.

Nice toothpick holder from France, made by at least two manufacturers but difficult to tell them apart, I hope this link works, http://opaline.defoire.pagesperso-orange.fr/opale/sommaire.htm
It’s an old website but very helpful, it’s either Portieux Vallerysthal or SV (Schmid Verreries à Vannes-le-Châtel). I think yours is SV.
C1900.
Cheers Mike

My pleasure, funnily enough I was researching this shape a few months ago as a like pieces with faces on.
