Title: Could this be a Fratelli Toso Millefiori paperweight?
Post by: LisaP on December 28, 2022, 06:37:29 PM
Hello all,

I've just discovered the fascinating world of glass paperweights whilst clearing out my mum's things. I remember this one from my childhood so have been trying to identify it online. I'm wondering whether it could possibly be a Fratelli Toso Millefiori? My parents travelled extensively in Italy in the 1970s so that would fit.

My reasons for reaching this conclusion is that it resembles image N° 15 on this link https://www.pwts.co.uk/pages/Murano%20FT.htm and even has the same irregularity on the base.

I would really appreciate your expert knowledge on the subject. Thank you!

Lisa

Hi

It is certainly a Murano factory product - and Fratelli Toso looks like the correct one. It is often correct to go for Murano, if a paperweight does not look like a Chinese one. Between them they probably account for close on half the paperweights you will find.
