Title: Miniature murrina and Micromosaic HELP!

Hi guys,
I have in consignment some very sophisticate micro murrinas and micro mosaics. I'm not expert about this kind of works and I would like to have your opinion and if possible some advices about the prices and how to sell them.
THe pattern is very, very small. in one there is the face of Garibaldi (M05), in another there is Anita with the date of 1848 (M04), in a pair there is written Venice.
I think they are something pretty rare. I know that the owner's fater had a positive extimation by one of the "gurus" of these works, mr. Serpellon, but we aren't able to find the docs about it.

I wonder whether that was deliberate? I imagine they are quite tiny judging by the photos Leni, but would love to know myself.

Yes, they are very small. So small that I wan't able to shot good photos of the pieces with Garibaldi and Anita because the faces are too small for my camera macro function.
The total size are between the 2 and the 5 cm (1-2 inchs).
I would like to tell more, but for now I'm looking for more and more infos.

Stunning, definitely pieces for a museum but price? Can surely only be found by placing in an important auction.

most of the canes that you have shown, are here in paperweights and scent bottles on one of Kevs sites

Could you please check the web pages for your images. I am getting "Page Not Found" for each of them.

I did get a brief look at some of the images before they disappeared and Ray may be right about some of the canes appearing in items shown in the PCC 1999 exhibition page he linked to. But I suspect that it is unlikely that "most" of the canes are included there as the items are mainly scent bottles which could have been made in the later years of the 19th century.

Since the date 1848 is included in the Anita murrine, it is likely that these are the work of Giacomo Franchini, son of Giovanni Battista Franchini. Some of the millefiori canes may be by G B Franchini.

If the images can be retsored, I will check each of them against examples shown in the books by Giovanni Sarpellon, who was most likley the person who first verified these items for the owner.

Unfortunatley, I know almost nothing about the micro-mosaics that are shown. But I think they are excellent.

All of these items really belong in a museum - such as on Murano. But I know that some paperweight collectors would be very happy to have these in their collections and would probably pay quite a lot of money to secure them.
